Nine die of cold in Saran district

chapra: the cold wave sweeping this district for over a week now has reportedly claimed nine lives so far. while four persons died in dighwara block, two died at garkha and three in amnaur blocks. normal life has been hit due to the cold. poor people have been left to their fate as no arrangements to lit bonfire and distribution of warm clothes have been made so far by the disrict administration.trader shot: unidentified criminals killed a businessman mukesh kumar gupta and took away his motorcycle on wednesday evening near mirganj bridge in gopalganj district. gupta, who hailed from lakadi village under the barharia police station, had gone to mirganj in connection with some business purpose and was killed while returning to his village. man stabbed to death: one mokhtar rai of ram nagar village under the chapra mufassil police station was stabbed to death by ram lat mahto on wednesday due to previous enmity. an fir has been lodged in this connection. two kidnapped: armed criminals moving on a jeep kidnapped two persons and also took away a rifle and mobile phone from another villager under the hathwa police station in gopalganj district on wednesday. those kidnapped are 50-year-old saheblal sah from hathwa village and mehmood ansari of chotaki baghi village. they also took away a rifle and mobile phone of tanveer ansari .
